Spiro·naut Sara Kirby is as passionate for people as she is about growing our trailblazing community. This corporate matchmaker works hard to find the right candidates for our growing team, ensuring that we remain Better Together.

Coming to you from Milwaukee, discover how Sara approaches building & taking care of the various communities she’s apart of both in and outside of work.

What superpower do you bring to work?

Matchmaker: The hiring process is a big decision for both parties. I look for candidates who are not only a great fit for the role but are also a great fit for our culture and values. I want them to be just as excited and proud about coming to Spiro™ as we are to have them joining our community.

How do you hone that skill and/or stay up to date?

One of the most important ways for me to stay current is to actively continue to learn about our business. With a deeper understanding of our different teams and what they do, the better equipped I am to find a candidate with the best skills to match their needs.

I love the partnerships that I have developed with my hiring managers, and I appreciate the time they share with me. These collaborations are a perfect example of how we live our Core Value, "Better Together"!

What excites you about your work and our industry?

Spiro is a special place to work and it's the people that make it that way. We have a powerful community where we challenge and create in all areas of our organization. It’s exciting to recruit for Spiro and it’s easy for me to stand behind our organization and bring amazing opportunities to candidates.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve done or place you’ve visited?

I am very lucky to have a wonderful family that has given me the opportunity to travel as much as I have. But the coolest thing I have done is backpacking throughout Europe for 30 days.

What makes Spiro stand out from other agencies?

Spiro doesn’t just talk about our core values, it lives them. I’ve seen firsthand how this has positively impacted our internal and external communities. We have so many employees that have been with the company for a long time. This is a testament to the community we have built and are continuing to strengthen as we grow and add to our team.

What’s an interesting fact that people may be surprised to learn about you?

My parents owned a large camper dealership and acres and acres of ginseng gardens. From a very early age I had no choice but to help with the family business. While I may not have appreciated it at the time, those experiences helped me develop the work ethic that became the foundation of my career.

What else would you like to share from your world?

I volunteered for many years at a women’s shelter, where I would help the residents improve their resumes and interview skills. It was so fulfilling to share my knowledge to help empower and improve the lives of other women.

On the fun side, my family loves to share memorable experiences. These experiences range from fun taste-testings (like trying over 30 kinds of Pringles) to creating our own food tours in Milwaukee. I have been told I can be a little "extra" when it comes to those experiences.
