Amy Santiago, People Operations Business Partner on our People & Culture team, is dedicated to her family, her craft, and our Spiro community. With a passion that’s ignited by the people around her, Amy’s determination to be the best she can be is inspiring.
Coming to you from Dover, New Hampshire, peek into Amy’s world—both in and outside of work.
What superpower do you bring to work?
Empathy—I have the ability to look at situations from a number of perspectives. Knowing that my perspective is not the only perspective has given me many opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact.
How do you refine and sharpen your skills?
I try to listen to People & Culture-focused podcasts or webinars weekly. I also ask for opinions, feedback, and advice quite often. These actions help me to continue to evolve as a professional.
What excites you about your work and our industry?
This industry lends so much creativity and passion that fuels my motivation. Working in an industry that’s centered around engagement inspires me to meet and exceed the expectations of our agency.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve done or place you’ve visited?
The coolest thing I have done is also the thing I am most proud of, which was my ability to get my master’s degree as a single parent of two small children with no outside support. This is something I often remind myself of when I am struggling or doubting myself.
What makes Spiro stand out from other agencies?
We have a group of people at Spiro who are so committed to success, and so tuned in, that it creates a subconscious motivation to follow suit. You know you are working with the best in the industry and you are compelled to "do right by them" by pushing yourself to perform your best at every opportunity.
What’s an interesting fact that people may be surprised to learn about you?
I am really interested in astrology, and because I’m so practical, this often surprises people. It's the Capricorn in me!
