Spiro·naut Feature: Anna Do

Wonder what makes our Spiro•nauts out of this world while thriving in the NEW NOW™? Check out our series featuring behind-the-scenes peeks of what drives their distinctive THERE•ness™!

Meet Spiro·naut Anna Do, Producer on our Events team, and hear her take on teamwork, the roles she’s held in the industry, and how to ensure success—along with her favorite things to do in the big bad world of “adulting.”

Coming to you from Marietta, Georgia, check out this glimpse into Anna’s world—both in and outside of work.

What superpower do you bring to work?

Making things happen. I'm here to deliver and execute.

How do you refine and sharpen your skills?

I came from the exhibitions side. My career started as a receptionist, which led to Operations Coordinator, to Finance, and then over to Account Management; all at GES.

I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to experience these various departments as I was "trying to find my way.” Each position gave me a wealth of knowledge and experience that have helped me conquer my current role as Producer on the Event Production team here at Spiro.

The most important thing is to keep an open mind and stay curious. No matter the role, it’s always important to ask questions – there are no dumb questions in my book! Understanding the fundamentals of WHY we do what we do has helped the success of my career.

Don't hesitate to schedule that one-on-one call with a department you're not familiar with. Understand their processes, ask questions, learn and get a new perspective. I betcha won't regret it.

Instead of accepting the "we've always done it this way" mentality, [realize that] times have changed, processes have changed, and even event experiences have changed post-COVID. We all have the intention to be successful at the end of the day.

What excites you about your work and our industry?

I am very excited to be a part of the Spiro community, with a focus on delivering memorable experiences and events for our clients. I love figuring things out, working collaboratively with my team, and seeing all the planning come to fruition. It truly takes a village.

I'm always up for a challenge! I love my TEAM. I'm excited to see what the future holds for Spiro.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve done?

Traveling, anywhere. It's super cool to experience the local culture, people, FOOD, and what the city has to offer. I'm a FOODIE and will eat my way through any city!

What makes Spiro stand out from other agencies?

Since Spiro branched out under the GES/Viad umbrella, I believe that we have a leg up from other agencies. We have the resources to pull from in-house, which makes us a one-stop shop for our community and clients.

What’s an interesting fact that people may be surprised to learn about you?

It's all about POV, right? Not gonna lie, I'm 36 years old. There's a love and hate relationship with A-D-U-L-T-I-N-G. I love going to music festivals and concerts, enjoying a good ol' live band, and attending stand-up comedy shows.

I love me some ‘90s and early 2000s hip hop and R&B. Depending on my mood it can range from Americana, Bluegrass, EDM, Hip Hop, to Indie Rock. I'm also in that weird threshold where podcasts are very entertaining!

Anything else we should know?

Yeah – BE KIND.
